The joys of childhood!

Oh to be able to live life with wild abandon. Experiencing everything as it comes along.....without inhibitions. Exploring, learning, laughing and just being 3 I suppose!

Maxi is one of those types of little people~

{Swinging backwards because it makes you the dizziest!}

{Going to school with sunnies on!}~Cheers Mate!

{Having a birthday for your toy Monkey, Sidekick, @ least once a month,
then getting blow out candles and eat chocolate cake straight after breakfast!!}

{Having a trampoline in your back yard and being allowed to jump on it
come sun, rain, hail or sub-zero temperatures!!!}

We need to take some tips from these little ones and try and live a little free'er, wilder, less cautious & stop worrying so much about what people think.......it plagues even the best of us.

So have a 'livin' loose' sort of day & enjoy where you find yourself.

XOXOXO

Great times!

This weekend was real a good one! We kept it varied as possible and away from home as much as possible too. When you work from home the last thing you want to do on weekends, is be at home for another x2 days if you don't have to.

Poeks came home with this cute project from school. I thought he would be itching to eat them....I was informed: "No! Mama, if I eat them, it will mess them up!"

Friday arvi was really cool...Maxi & I did some painting together. I am trying to get him to express himself creatively without pressurizing him too much. He is just not interested in drawing or painting....his reasoning when I ask him is :
"I don't know how to draw 'a ..whatever the project is'...you do it Mama, 'cos I can't!"
I thought if I did it with him and chose subject matter he is crazy about, it mi
ght entice him to get involved. We did quite well with all things considered.....and Maxi managed exersize his 'crafty' genes for about 40 minutes ...the loud "ENUFF OF THIS MAMA!" sort of ended that session.

Sat AM was spent wandering around the Builders Warehouse....we went in search of mini cacti & ended up buying cacti, a divine reading lamp and even managed to fit a leisurely breakfast......with a busy 3yr old. Oh did I mention we gave him a fist full of coins to feed the yellow VW bug riding car......it kept him occupied for ages while the mum & dad guzzled good coffee and grub!

Sat arvi was spent with good friends, the Browns, walking around the beautiful estate where they live. Oh, the joy of a controlled environment.....SAFE! Had a ball even tho' all the kiddie-winks had a melt down of sorts, at one time or another. The results of no afternoon nap.

Sunday was spent low key but started off FESTIVE with a quick visit to the Rasmussens for Jo's birthday. We ate pastries, drank coffee and shot the breeze while the kids were entertained by Scott & Erin.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY sweetness~we luv ya!

Well as you can see fun was had in great volumes~ The evening finished off well with a long skype session to my Mom & Dad! Max loves 'skyping' his Bam & Pop's. He gets 'virtual' stories read to him, songs sung to him and general FUN, FUN, FUN from 1000's of miles away. The joy of technology!
Well gotta go & collect parcels from the post office~ car's for Maxi from the doting grandparents, I betcha!!! Oh, well you are only a child once and a boy can never have too many cars.

Luv ya
XOXOXO

Go-figure?

I am sitting in front of my laptop and FREEZING my buns off! When is Summer coming? Supposed to be Spring in 2 weeks......MY EYE!!! at this rate we are going to be in fluffy sweaters until Christmas........aaaarh! I need the sun!

I am struggling to get motivated to do anything useful today....maybe I will just sloth with Maxi and potter around the house. He had us up early this morning....announcing at the top of his voice about 2 inches from my nose, that:

"IV'E HAD ENOUGH SLEEP NOW MAMA, GET OUT OF THE BED & COME PLAY CARS WIFF ME!!!!"

for some bazaar reason I had no inclination to oblige or budge out of the bed at 6 this morning. He just didn't get it...that I needed sleep, even after saying :
" I need sleep Maxi.....shhhhhh!" about 200 times.

Funny how life works....when you have the opportunity and freedom to sleep whenever you want for however long you want...you don't and when you aren't allowed to sleep or just don't have the time to sleep....all you want to do is sleep.

Oh! pespi bottle where are you???????????

Haha! now I am really rambling....I'll go now.
Have a super day everyone.

Another day!

....and nothing much to report. Same old stuff really.....life!
I found this thought provoking quote site the other day...this is the gist of one section on
life....

Learning not to grapple with every little thing that comes along,
is quite
a struggle for many of us. The eggs are too runny;
the coffee is not
hot enough; the clothes don’t fit exactl
y perfectly. Some of us have so
fashioned our lives around perfecting the details
of the small stuff,
that we never catch a glimpse of the bigger picture.

We so distract our lives with details and convince ourselves that
every little thing matters, that we live out of balance. Forgetting that
stuff
happens, the Lord never said life would be perfect to the last detail.

The trick is to look for the joys that come in small packages, that
come around
when you least expect it and make the most of them.
It is knowing that big packages
of joy are few and far between but
that's OK...it's life. It is
making the most of now, enjoying what is at
hand.
With the knowledge that with God inside us, where we are and
what
we are experiencing, is part of a pre-planned destiny. Our
peace is supposed to come from knowing that although every hour
of
every day might not be going according to our "great expectation",
it is going
according to His. We need to rest in that.

These pic's are x2 of those joy moments they spoke of>>>>>

Have a fab. 'small moment' filled day!

p.s don't you love the gremlins at work with the font colours hahaha! none of my doing I am afraid.

Update!

Morning everyone....hope you had a relaxing weekend? We certainly did!!!! We decided to try and do something different and different it was!!!! Hence no posts this weekend....I just wasn't at home for long enough.

Sat was a freak~out for the highly strung Mama....we decided to spend the day on the beach with Brian & Landa. The guys would go surfing and the girls would hang out and watch that the kids didn't drown. I started off so worked up {do you know how much stuff I was able to convince myself we needed to pack just in case????? and I didn't have any serious food packed yet hahahaha!}. I calmed down once we were securely stationed on the beach, the kids were doing their thing and the blokes were in the water. Nothing like a bit of windless beauty, divine sunshine, snacks from heaven curticy of Landa, {GIRL YOU WERE A STAR!!!} & nothing but the quiet whisper of the waves to listen too........that is until the microlights started flying overhead and Maxi almost pee'd himself in excitement.

{Brian...Landa you guys were amazing with the kids.....thank-
you sooooo much for all the effort you made. You are the BEST!!!!!}

My darling Husband as tired as he was braved the freezing atlantic and surfed his brains out!!!! He was so amped from his surf that he has been on cloud 9 ever since. Ladies if your hubbies are getting a bit frayed around the seams, send them surfing!!!!! It does wonders for their general well being.

Only problem is it takes some seriously creative reasoning to convince them that they need to leave their laptops and head to the beach.
A happy hunnie clad in tight rubber...ooooh!
Go! Snakey Go!>>>>>

Sunday was just as much fun. We spent the day up at Pinehaven {above Simons town} with an old friend of Tersh's. There was plenty of space for the kids to run and explore, the blokes yakked like girls and the Mama took 400 photographs!!!! ~no jokes! The kids befriended an amazing border collie and we had such fun throwing a variety of sticks, pine cones and anything else we could find. She was tireless and played for hours, even tho' I am sure she was poop'd. Even Maxi relaxed enough to play with her and laughed like a drain every time she piled into a mud puddle, just because she loved to wallow.

The flowers were out in full force, making an amazing backdrop for photo's >>>>>

It was good for us to do stuff together as a family. It somehow helped us bond more, laugh more, be more of a family. A great way to prepare for a crazy week of deadlines @ Redline.

Enjoy your day everyone and I will chat tomorrow.

Ha-ha!! the sun has come out!

Morning all! I have just peeked out of the window and guess what.....the sun has come out. There is something about feeling the sun on your face and having to reach for your sunnies to ward off the glare, that reminds you, you are alive. I think today is going to be a good day!

I have sent off some L.O's to Jo's web lady for her site, organised air tickets for our trip in December, phoned the dentist, and caught up with my SMS's........definitely a good day. I am scrapping again......yaay! Scraplifting mind-you from the new Autumn leaves book " Perfectly Clear".....in creatively dry times like this, it is allowed I say. I mean why publish these beautiful books if you can't use them??? Hopefully I will be finished soon and Jo can put it on her site.

Anyway lovely ones.....I must make hay while the sun shines, as they say.....Max is still content to play by himself, so until "I'm it"...I must get cracking!!

This is the way to live......WILD & FREE>>>>>

Chat later XXXXXX

Don't always believe what you see!!

Our Lemon tree>>>>

The yield of fruit off our Lemon tree>>>>>

The homemade product from the lemons~off our tree>>>>>

IDYLLIC????

Nope......is it ever??? Is this our purpose as stay at home Mum's?
Produce.......children, foodstuffs, clean laundry?? Erm....I hope not because I am

"GOING OUT OF MY MIND WITH THE SHEER BOREDOM & MONOTONY" of it all.

It's not a pretty picture right now......& don't say I didn't warn you. The transition from 20 years of working, to SAHM, is taking a little longer than expected. I do find it therapeutic to YELL!! in capital letters, into cyberspace without too much fear of retaliation or recourse. Cheaper too than paying a 'shrink' vast quantities of lolly, to tell me I am mildly depressed and not to be too hard on myself because it is to be expected. This I know.....but it still doesn't change matters. I call it "Braindeadacytis".....anyone have an old wives tale for me? Cos I am all ears???

Well now that I have thrown my name away and got you all mumbling: "Shame!!", I'll go and make a nice strong brew of Columbian, crack open a bar of Choccie and watch a skop-skiet-and-donder DVD......Hallemalulia for 'Helliwood' escape remedy #101.
Hahahahaha! {I'm too funny}.

Sleep well.

Hi world, miss me?

Ha! fat chance....you are all probably cursing my apathy for not posting more regularly and have deleted my link off your blogs.

Sorry man!!!!

I just haven't felt up to it.....with the last 2 weeks being hectic with SCRAPPING, SCRAPPING & more SCRAPPING! and in all honesty I am scrapped out & blogged out. You ladies out there who scrap for
love or $ are probably asking: "Why is the tart complaining?".

Haven't you ever been in a place where the sight of your lap top, acrylic stamp collection, paper stash etc just gives you the creeps? No?

oh well.... I am on my own then. To make matters worse our wireless router and server has been down.....and up......and down......and aaarrh! enough to drive me scatty. Us Westerners who rely heavily on being connected to the greater planet, really struggle when we are not. I feel isolated, cut off, lost.....and yes, PATHETIC!!!! {anyone know of a help group or two.....I might need some council-ling}
Well as a last resort I turned off our network encryption code {I almost know what I am doing} and......VIOLA!!!! all sorted.

Problem now being, that anyone with the know how can quietly park in the vicinity of my house and surf the net to their hearts content.....and NO that is not an invitation, unless of course you pop in for a cuppa first. I have no excuse now for not posting I suppose....and I will try I promise to blog at least once a day~ bwhahahahahaha! ~ fat chance but my intentions are good.
So watch this spot.

The next bunch of pic's, are for those family members out there who have forgotten what we look like OR any other marginally interested parties.....

Surprise birthday tea for my Hunnie by B & L....you two are stars
THANK-YOU!!!!!!

The next pic's are of Maxi-moo having a joll at the Play Park in Ustenberg Vlakte.......45min drive mind you, but totally worth it. We were suppose to meet some of Tersh's friends there but they couldn't make it at the last minute....we didn't mind tho' cos the weather out there was FABULOUS. We had an amazing day together!

Even the dad had FUN!!!

If you were wondering where the Mama was....... behind the camera as usual.

Anyway, I will end here before some of my regular readers complain about the post being too long!!! No pleasing everyone, hey?

Be happy and remember to look for at least one small pleasure today....I am speaking to myself here too. Ground hog is rearing it's ugly head again....and it is so easy to spiral downward into that place that makes me into a grump!!
Until next time.

XOXOXO

Blogger!!!! whats going on???

Why is it that one minute it works then the next it doesn't??? My friend Mel is having a torrid time, anyone else struggling too? All I know is that somewhere out in cyber-space are hundreds of photo's {probably of the same thing}, floating around, without purpose or home because Blogger misplaced them. How does that happen.....will someone please explain this to me....preferably in baby computer talk so I can get it!!!

How much collective time is wasted, I wonder, fixing posts that previously were just fine???? 100's possibly 1000's of hours!!!
Grrrrrrr! makes me mad!

Well, now that I have gotten that off my chest I feel much better. I hope you are all well and having a fine day??? Maxi has just gotten home so I will sign off now.

Chat soon!!!
