Go slow!

Hey guys...I haven't left the planet...I've been playing Mama-nurse-playmate for the last couple of days. Max is sick again....the hectic fevers of around 40 degrees, have certainly kept us on our toes & up at night, so both T & I aren't great company right now. The lack of sleep is a killer & makes for ratty, short tempers. This has been the worst winter in our house hold for bad flu, since Max was born. I've been praying for the Lords grace & healing for all of us right now....but in all honesty it feels like the intergalactic phones are down. Any tips anyone???

#4 Sketch idea!

In case you were a little daunted by my sketch idea, I thought I'd help you out a bit by showing you an interpretation idea based on the ad. You can clearly see where the idea came from but it is obviously not even remotely similar....this is the joy of finding everyday things to help with L.O ideas.I am looking forward to seeing your creative takes on #4.

Photo stream #2

Time for my photo stream no #2. Jessica challenged us all to try it again.....so here goes:

The place from where I blog....well at the moment anyhow. It is so cold these days that I moved all my electronic stuff from upstairs in my hubbies loft office, to my dining room table. I know it looks like a dogs breakfast...but I'd rather deal with a couple of wires than freezing my ass off.

My kitchen junk drawer...in there you can find...light bulbs, batteries, spare bike tyres, filter jug filters, sticky tape & loads of stuff I haven't looked at in months.

And seeing as a couple of you were concerned I had tidied up before the last shoot & we are talking about messy places....this is to prove I didn't. All the stuff that lies around...like kiddies art stuff, kiddies art, kiddies school projects...etc, etc, gets stashed in this cupboard...see no tidying going on in there.

My favourite jewelry....I am not one for much bling, so my wedding ring comes up tops.

Otherwise I am a plastic bead girl....the more the merrier.

My favourite part of me....hmmm! hard one...my eyes I suppose. I am really grateful that at 39 I have very few lines...yikes! this pic is really the naked truth.

And lastly my kerb appeal....my house. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my home...it started as a horrible 80's face brick house that had little or no character & over the last 5 years T & I have renovated & tweaked it to exactly what we wanted. We love living here.

Well I hope you enjoyed the virtual tour...I'm off to go and look at everyone else's.
Have a super day!x

Challenge #4~ ' Frozen moments'

I was wracking my brain about what to do for this weeks challenge...& then in one sweet moment I had a berry good idea (hahahaha! good hey?) Staring @ me from laptop was the coolest Ben & Jerry's ad...& I knew that was it.

So here it is guys.....
Not only do we have to use the ad as a sketch, but the subject matter must include ice cream or dessert or any sweet indulgence you might fancy, in some manner or form. Feel free to use puns or play on words or heck even try a spoonerism :o)

Do you have a fetish about ice cream or strawberry cupcakes?
Are you allergic to the stuff?
Or are you just allergic to your kids eating sweet treats in the car?
Does sugar give you nightmares if you eat it just before bed?
Or is dessert an essential food group in your home?
Do you make waffles every Sunday after church?

Whatever floats your boat, lets see it!

The challenge deadline is Friday 4th July.....so all you guys from the USA, don't leave it to the last minute because I know you are gonna want to be free to celebrate...being the 4th 'n all.

#3 RAK winner is.....

Our guest selector "Clucky-benylin-phil-notty" the toad, pulled the name out of the hat in record time.

Well done Paula......!

Your little 'something' will be in the mail soon. The soonest I will post the next challenge, is later today, because I am about to head out with my bloke on a day time date. Not having PM baby sitters, we catch a day time date everynow & then and are heading to Cavendish for lunch at the Gourmet Burger...thanks for the tip Jo!
So thanks again for all the beautiful L.O's submitted girls.....you are all STARS!!!

Challenge #3 "Bling it on!"

....and they're up!!

Girls, you have done a FANTASTIC job this week.....I see bling everywhere.....well done!! All your pages are inspiring & beautiful to look at.....be PROUD of yourselves!

This beautiful L.O by Michelle....has delicate rhinestone center's in all the flowers.

Here Joscie has combined my favourite colour combo of red & blue & added twinkle in the form of glitter alphas (gotta get me some of those :o), a little crystal circle around the store sign & jewel brads. I also now know that we here in SA are sorely missing out....the store she speaks of called Krispy Creme, is the hottest, crispiest & most delicious donut shop in the whole of the USA. Go & check out their web site.

Mel's beautiful L.O sports carefully placed beads & crystals in the centers of the velvet flowers....I know what went into getting that right. Mel, it was worth it this page is lovely!!

That crystal crown is SO cute, it looks so real...Paula, Coco is such a cute pie.....her name in 'diamonds' (Max's words) is a perfect finish to this great L.O!

I love the red/magenta colour combo...& Mel did it so well here. The crystal word & sparkly clear flower accents compliment this great page blingin' perfectly.

WOW! our first double L.O....& worth the wait it was...it is beautiful Stef. All the blingie touches add sophistication & sparkle. The fact that the page was about her daughters newly acquired pierced ears & earings is so apt....but knowing Stef, it was all carefully planned, right?

Boy bling.....COOL! Another great L.O by Stef....who needs Krispy Creme, when we can improvise like those beauts???This great L.O by Marylin has GLITTERY stars & rhinestones to bling things up.

This super HIP L.O by Jo is so well done. Bling for a teenage boy is a tricky one.....so look & learn guys, this is GREAT! Subtle jewel brads, anchoring the title tag down & the clock center.

And lastly this is my take on the challenge....bling done a bit alternative. See those clear buttons, well I adhered onto the page with glitter glue....I was thinking SNOW FLAKES, being about snow & all :o)

Another fantastic challenge under our belts. I will post the RAK winner a bit later with next weeks challenge.
Thanks to everyone who played along.

PS: apologies to the couple of girls who haven't sent me their L.O's yet & missed the posting. Maybe the time difference is a bit of a problem. We can sort it out for next week :o)

Have a great day!

Evidence.

You know it's been weekend in our home by the debris that lies around the house. If you look carefully, it tends to be debris with purpose, courtesy of Max. Yes, we have a boy in the house!

Have a look......cars in a boot...........(because boots have handles...easy to carry around, duh!)
Piles of puzzles, bits of wire, modeling clay, books & other such things...
Crazy clay critters....
Neat rows of cars being led by Mr M&M, dragging a large silver padlock.....important stuff this.
Various containers filled with a treasure trove of bits 'n bobs.....
Meet 'Clucky-benalyn-phil-notty'....our resident rubber toad, who has been responsible for the raised heart rate of more than one unsuspecting visitor.
(Uniquely named by Master M. Watson himself)
We also had Bambi visit us.....but shame, the hunters caught him & put him in a cage. See his sad face...? (M is such an act!)We went to Levi's birthday on Friday, where Mel had these super cool rides for the kiddies. Had to share this really bad happy-snap of Max perfecting his, 'I'm tired of flash bulbs & Mamarazzi' face. One of the downfalls of being a scrapbooker....too many camera's around all the time.
And that's all folks...I'll post something scrappy a bit later.

Small stuff!

My day was made of snippets of small things that I probably won't remember in a week, so I thought I'd about blog it...now, it'll forever be immortalized in cyber space for me to read when ever I want....don't you just love blogging!!!
This bunch of yellow flowers was a 'gift' from Maxi. He pulled them off some bush in a neighbours front yard, whilst walking outside in the street. I love the sincerity in his eyes as he reaches up to me & says...' I have something special for you Mama, because I love you SOOOO much!'...tweaks the heart strings believe me & distracts me enough from reprimanding him for stomping in someone else's flower beds.
This was taken at 8AM this morning...Max dressed himself....his PJ's with his Aloha T-shirt over the top & sweats....Joscie, yes he is reading the beautiful book you sent us about Hawaii....he loves it!! He is so crazy about anything to do with Hawaii...thanks to Lilo & Stitch & you guys!
To make sure I got my daily dosage of adrenalin...'both' our hot water geysers over our bedroom decided to burst today. By the grace of God I heard something strange & went to investigate only to find hot water running down the walls in my bedroom & out of the light fittings. I YELLED! for Tersh, who improvised while we waited for the electrician & plumber. We have to have both majorly overhauled but better that than having the roof cave in through water damage. God is indeed very good!
We had supper of rice Paella on the floor in front of the fire place this evening...I love watching how much my boys love eachother....makes this Mama's heart very happy.
I even baked this afternoon....no, don't be fooled I wasn't being the epitome of domesticity. Max was driving me NUTS & I had run out of activities to do with him. He is a gr8 helper in the kitchen when I bake...& he has been nagging me for days for cinnamon muffins. So cinnamon muffins & a choc-chip vanilla loaf it was. Bad for the waistline...excellent for the state of mind. I'll diet in heaven.

At this moment...

Morning everyone! How did you sleep? Me...you ask? Not ENOUGH! Never enough....Ugh! I am so sleepy as I type this...good thing I have spell check & an endless supply of caffeine laced beverages on tap.
I was tagged by Martha the other day...with the COOLEST tag....'photographic evidence of places in my home right now'. Well mine are a mixture from Monday (a public holiday for us here in SA) & today...I hope that's OK!

My fridge....WOW! it actually looks really healthy in there. Most important occupant of the fridge can be found on the right, in the door.....my incredibly necessary Diet Pepsi. My kitchen & sink after making waffles for breakfast. Max decided eating @ the kitchen table wasn't a good idea but rather opted for the floor, on a blanket. Sam please note the little row of bottle tops next to him. He swiped them off my scrap table :o)
This is the kitchen table where we eat most of our meals.....it is like a magnet for junk! There is always a load of stuff on it, which gets shoved into the back corner to make room to sit.
My loo....which is in my bedroom...we have an open plan bathroom-bedroom-wet room vibe. Nope there is no door, so if we NEED to go, then we use one of the others in the house (there are 4...plenty to choose from).
My closet....well theoretically I share it with T but I hog most of the room for my SHOES & HANDBAGS. Being in the clothing industry for so long I have accumulated so much 'free' stuff. The church down the road loves it when I have a grand chuck out....:o)
My favourite place in the whole house...my rather messy scrap area. See Stef, is it not tidy all the time, only between L.O's. I was making cards here....hence the chaos.
The shoes I am wearing right now.....Aaaaah! now the hideous secret is out...at home, when I am cold, I wear Croc's & socks....AND they are not even real Croc's but sad local rip-offs. I prefer the price tag of only R39.99=$4.98 as opposed to R299.99=$37.36. Say it....CHEAPSKATE!!
My dream holiday....NO LAUGHING!!! a fishing trip to the Everglades. I have ALWAYS wanted to go fresh water fishing, where the fish actually pursue the boat in an effort to get caught on my hook. To be in the middle of a mozzie, croc infested swamp catching HUGE sweaty bass. Bring it on!!I need to be catching myself one of these beaut's.....I'll put it back of course.....I just want to catch the sucker!!!
Well now that you have the low down on my 'where & now'...I am going to tag some blogging buds too.....Paula, Shaina, Stef & Joscie.
I hope you play along too!

....RAK #2 winner is?

Tersh randomly picked a number & it was Michelle. Well done Mich, mail me your postal details where I can send your RAK....just a little something to say thanks for playing. And get ready girls for Challenge #3.

I have decided it has to be something we all find hard to do on our L.O's.....BLING! in the form of crystals, glitter, stickles, sequin's, beads or anything that can be described as bling.....& not some small insignificant little shiny thing in a far off corner....it must say "Look @ me...I'm beautiful!".
The other requirement is that we must use x2 photographs...one must be approx. 5x7 & the other approx. 3x4...either portrait or landscape is fine.

I found these x2 L.O's in the Autumn leaves~Details book for inspiration.

This one has obvious yet subtle bling, in the form of beads, decorative pins & jewels. And both photographs are portrait.

And this one has sequins everywhere...look @ how divine the sequins look in & around the flower. Here x1 photo is landscape whilst the other x1 is portrait.

Happy scrapping everyone. Again let me know if you are playing along!
Bye!!
