Off for a bit.

Well guys.....this will be my last post for a couple of days. My little brood & I are about to jump onto a plane to go & spend Christmas with my Mom's sister in Port Elizabeth. She is very ill & can't wait to see the children & have Christmas with them.....in all honesty I don't know what to expect but it will be good to have a change of scenery for a week & get to spend time with my Aunts who I haven't seen for a year.

I hope you & yours have a super Christmas together. Can I challenge you to take time to remember what we are celebrating on Thursday. It is not the chubby guy in red or the thousands of $ spent on trinkets & baubles but the miraculous blink in history where God stepped out of His world & became human all for the purpose of providing the last & final unblemished sacrifice. The last peace offering for us to cancel out our sin; so that by free choice & one question, we too can be forgiven. Quite a serious thing to be celebrating, if you REALLY think about it.

So I wish you all a wonderful festive week & I'll see you in a week or so.

Hugs

Gotta luv scrapbooking!

I love scrapbooking.....(if you haven't already realised that by now). I love everything about it, the art, photography & opportunity to be able to express myself; as well as the extended diverse community I have had the privilege of meeting & befriending.

OK, I know I am gushing & rambling on but that's what blogs are for aren't they and I am just so ridiculously happy right about now, I could pop. My hard work is paying off because I have just had another whole bunch of pages selected for publication.....x6 to be exact.

Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook trends & Scrapbook etc (and it was my first submission to them too :o)

I feel so spoilt....like Christmas has come early! Thanks (to all the mags I just mentioned)....in my opinion you guys ROCK!

I feel a serious *Happy dance* coming on............Fa-La-La-La!

Cards for the holidays!

img_0612

Being in the Holiday mood, I thought what better way to celebrate,
than to make some easy Christmas & holiday cards for my family
& friends all over the world. My December Cocoa Daisy kit was perfect for the project too. So without too many extras, I was able to whip these beaut's up in a flash!

I'll be posting a card a day on the Daisy Diva blog, for the next x4 days...so make sure you pop over there for a daily update, OK!

Remember we would love to see your creations, so if you get the time to make some of these cards of your own, PLEASE upload them into the Cocoa Daisy gallery for everyone to enjoy too :o)

TFL!!

At the mall!

We braved the mall this weekend. To put you in the picture, I hate the mall, Tersh loathes it & Max...well let's say...if he comes with ever, I need to take Valium before hand.

We headed out to the large Pick 'n Pay hyper in Ottery, we had heard through the media it had undergone a major revamp, so we thought we'd hit groceries & last minute shopping for Christmas all at the same time, whilst having 'an improved shopping experience'. We got there early, so by 9.30am we were already in the store trawling for the goodies we needed. 15 minutes later Max was climbing the walls, Tersh was in his happy place...& I was cursing the person who invented super stores, vowing to give internet shopping a bash. Then in a moment of genius, I wondered if maybe Max was just hungry.(He has been growing like a sprout over the last 6 weeks; 2cm according to the doc). One of these & a toastie sorted him out.....thankfully there was a restaurant inside the store. (Hunger can be a crazy thing sometimes~ Hahaha!)

The Christmas vibe was everywhere...blasting out of the radio overhead, decorations, store staff dressed as elves...they pulled out all the stops. (I admit we did have a moments silence for all the male store staff, dressed in green & purple tights, pointy hats complete with fake elf ears attached.) Sad & tell you sad, to see them cringe & jiggle as most of the women who pass by drop their eyes to their....crotches. I hope the $ was worth it? ROFL!!

With all the festive decorations out, Max had a ball & insisted on touching each display we passed...my cheque book winced each time. I had visions of smashed decorations raining down on us...where oh where was the Valium when I needed it?

On a different note, we found with the store revamp, that they had installed a shiny new spice section...Wow! it was a sensory overload...the colours & smells had my mouth watering in minutes. I spoke to the Indian lady there, who said if I came back sometime, she would mix me up a special blend of spices to make curry just how I remember it, from my days in Durban (Laci's I'll let you know how it turns out:o)

Afterward we headed home to spend the rest of the weekend in the pool. The temp's soared to 35-40C....bloomin' hot I tell you, especially as we were in long sleeves just a couple of weeks ago. There was no adjusting...Summer arrived with a bang!!

This is where I hope to spend most of our Christmas break.....bum in spotty chair, drinking copious amounts of diet Pepsi & reading a good book. Bring on summer....woohoo!! I can do this!

Well girlies! That's my news...I'll be in touch in a couple of days!
Later!

Sneak peek?

This months **Cocoa Daisy** kit is BEAUTIFUL!!! I had such fun putting my L.O's together, here is a sneak peak of the kit to wet your appetite. If you are keen to grab one, you'd better hurry...almost everything is sold out already & it was only launched last night :o)

(Pssst: See this stamp.....I designed it for the kit...cool hey!)

Here is a sneaky peak at one of my L.O's...If you want to see what the Daisy Diva's did, have a look-see **here**. The girls really pulled out all the stops, they are amazing. Some more great news is that we have a new Diva on board from this month, Ronda, from OLW. We featured her here just last month....welcome on board hun, it's great to have you!!

On a different note, I have some more FAB! scrappy news. I have just had another page picked up by Creating keepsakes mag for publication in the new year!! It has been hard work but it is proving to be worth it of late, & is definitely paying off ~heehee! I'll keep you posted about when the mag's hit the shelves.

Now be honest!!! How are you all doing with your Christmas cards? I am ashamed to say have made x1...only x1...sheeesh!! I have like a million to go. I think we must have a card fest or something...what do you think? I must give the details some thought. I'll keep you posted because I need some serious motivation to get me going. I don't want to miss the boat & not get them out on time, I'll feel terrible!! Anyone have any ideas???

I had a free moment the other day & was stoked to be able to get together with some good scrappy buddies for tea, at an appropriately named restaurant called 'High Tea', in the most gorgeous English garden setting. It was so civilized & quaint and best of all not a jungle-jim or swing set in sight, it was a 'big people's' hang out, a place for the mommies of the world to get together, feel normal & sane whilst having adult conversation :o)

I really recommend it, it was good for the soul :o)

Well that's all for now guys! I hope you are well & getting geared for the Christmas season, which is a matter of weeks away....Yikes! a tad scary wouldn't you say.
Chat soon though.
