More Pink!

I have been getting my creative groove on...& playing nicely with my gorgeous Pink Paislee stash. Their ranges are such fun & really great to work with because they have coordinating sticker booklets, chipboard, alphas & rubons for each paper line.

This page is made entirely from the Fascinating line if you are interested in seeing the whole line, with papers & embellishments, take a look here.

This page was so much fun to do, it was originally for a PP blog post & then I changed my mind & did another one. I mixed all the ranges together...yup! that's how well the work together, these are the papers I used.
Fascinating- Spectacular
Captivating- Beautiful
Fetching - Charming
Fetching - Engaging
Enchanting - Wonderful

And embellishments from each line: Captivating, Fascinating, Fetching & Enchanting

Do yourself a favour & get down to your nearest LSS & get yourself some. Aren't they just the coolest???
Happy scrappin' chaps!!

Scrapbook & Cards Spring issue!

The Scrapbook & Cards Spring issue is out!

They are such a super mag and Kerry & Catherine are so great to work with! The amazing thing about this mag is that it is available for subscription over here if you prefer a paper & ink mag to drool over but if you are OK with pixels, you can down load it for FREE here.

I was very honored to be asked to contribute to this issue & do their 'Easy, difficult, Expert column' found on page 30 & 31... I had such a blast putting it together. Inside the mag you can find as well, amazing tips n tricks from well known & very talented scrappers like:

Kim Hughes
Linda Harrison
Kimber McGray
Roxanne Jegodtka
Michelle Engel

Here is a one of my L.O's from the article but for the rest you'll have to download the mag :o)

Another challenge prompt??

Create a layout with a LIST... it can be lists of things you love, those that you detest, things you do all the time, or like my layout.. it is a list of the artists Max loves to listen to right now.

I used the Cocoa Daisy April kit to put them together....if you are keen to grab one for yourself, have a look here

And a close up!

Hope you are inspired, if you are & post a L.O anywhere, drop me a line...I'd love to take a look.

Have a super day!

Up for a challenge??

A couple of weeks ago, we over at Cocoa Daisy had a Spring crop...oooh! it was such a blast. So for those who weren't able to join us, I thought I'd post my challenges here. The cool thing is you will be able to make use of the flower tutorial I gave you on Wednesday

The 1st one is a fabric Challenge....here's a quick materials list:

*Card stock
*x2 different patterned papers
*Strips of fabric either plain to match your card stock or something that you dig!
* Odd piece of lace fabric or just ribbons & braids
* Piece of patterned fabric to make the main fabric flower
*A few embellishments of your choice/brads/buttons/flowers/journal block etc etc
*Sewing machine & needle & thread

You can decide to use the materials list to create a similar style to mine or create your own.. Just have fun! Play!!

Here it is close up:

Now remember to pop back tomorrow for challenge no #2.

Enjoy!!! & have super day!!

Flower tutorial.

Mornin' all...thought I'd get you inspired to try your hand at a bit of sewing. For those of you panicking...please don't! The word sewing doesn't include the use of any machinery but rather the old fashioned needle & thread.

This is a tutorial I put together recently for the Cocoa Daisy Spring crop we held a week or so ago. It is really easy & worth a try. ;)

Image

*First start with a strip of fabric...the wider you cut it the bigger your flower will end up.
*Fold it in half width wise so you get a clean edge for the 'petals'.
*Pin & tack stitch it closed...remember to stop 1cm short on one end for joining the flower together.

Image

*Holding the fabric in one hand & the thread still attached to the needle in the other, gently gather the fabric to one side.
*Once completely gathered, back stitch to stop it unraveling.

Image

*With the right sides together, back stitch the x2 ends together to secure the flower circle.
*The flower is now complete.

Image

*Using a large decorative brad or button through the middle, secure the flower onto your page.

Voila! all done...simple & effective way to make your own embellishments ;)

I hope it was helpful??
Happy scrappin'!

Got the cover.

Ok now that the mag is on the shelves I can share my fantastic news (*I am still pinching myself).....that my 'Robot Love' L.O got the cover of the June Creating Keepsakes. My sweet friend Martha, scanned the front page (because mine hasn't arrived yet) & mailed it to me. I was over the moon (haha! no pun intended) when I opened her mail & saw it....& I just love the final cover layout with the toy robots....it looks so cool!

Thanks CK...you guys really know how to make a gals day (birthday actually hehe!) I'm off with a good friend to swipe some plastic & spoil myself. I have a feelin' it's gonna be a good day after all!

Chat later.
