Want to win something?

Hi guys, keen to win a $10 store voucher? Well to be in the running you need to take a bash at my June journaling challenge over at Cocoa Daisy. Over my morning coffee this AM, I was browsing through Ali Edwards book: Life Artist and I was really inspired by a L.O on pg 95, where she hand drew her journaling lines & then mixed the journaling up by using hand writing, and sticker word art to create her journaling.

So my challenge is just that.....Mix it all up :D :D
(and be sure to include a bunch of different treatments to make up your journaling eg: sticker words, hand writing , stamping etc etc.)

So remember to upload your page into our gallery & post a link in this thread for us to check out.
NB: The challenge deadline is the 10th July...Happy Scrappin'!!
;D ;D

Walk down memory lane with Cocoa Daisy!!

This months kit over at Cocoa Daisy was challenging for me...the paper combo was interesting & really out of the box, so admittedly I wasn't sure what direction to take, that is until I started cutting & sticking.......oooh boy! I had such fun. I layered, inked, crumpled & generally had a blast with each & every L.O.

Take a look

This page is about the x4 generations of women who paved the way for our family, living in Africa as colonials.....my Great-Great granny, Great Granny (Oumsie), my Granny (Ouma) & my mom who was 2yrs old in the photographs.

This page is about my Aunty Col who in the 70's was a famous singer.

A page about me & my buddy Melody.

This one showcases just how far & long Maxi has been traveling. Since he was 7 months actually, he asked me the other day when our next trip was going to be because he would like it to be to France & Italy next hehehe! Clever tick!!

Now if you hurry there is still time to grab one & get yourself a sub....
NB: New & old kit subscribers who are 'on record' by the June 15th, will not only receive extra, exclusive journaling spots with their kits, they will also be entered in to win a whole summer of Christine's Project kits all for free. That's 3 months worth of project kits starting with the June one. EEEECK!! is that an awesome prize or what......so you'd
better hurry, time's running out guys!!

Happy scrappin'!!

Cocoa Daisy's ROCKIN'!

In May there were so many great creative prompts~ see here & challenges~see here over at CD, that I couldn't help myself & did a bunch on them.

This was Christine's challenge was how to draw a person's eye to the primary subject or photo on your layout. The first thing we are usually drawn to in a photograph is a person's face/eyes. Sometimes we have a great photograph were the subject's eyes just pop off the page at us, but other times we need to lead the viewer in the right direction. She found the best way to do this is by using paper strips and embellishments that will point the viewer in the right direction.

This was my take on the challenge:

Now remember the deadline for this challenge is the 10th June...the winner gets a Cocoa Daisy store voucher :)

This is the next challenge by Anja.....Fun with Titles, she hand stitched her's....COOL hey!!

This creative prompt was posted by Ronda.....Use your old photos.

Here is my take on it.

I used some happy snaps for this...no retouching, no colour correction...straight as they came from the photo developer. Do you know how hard it was for me using photos that I couldn't correct....I was chewing my nails as I stuck them down. I know, I need help! hahaha!

I decided to give my Heidi Swapp Invisibles from my May kit a try too, after all the fabulous tips 'n tricks the other DT girls, showed us in this link. I inked, painted & sprayed to add colour...it was such fun. After it was dry, I then cut it into a shape for variety & layered & stitched & roughened & tied. I LOVED this project!! That cool flower is from Pink Paislee!

And lastly this prompt was to create a Thank you Card to show your appreciation for someone :) All made with the gorgeous May Cocoa Daisy kit.

Be sure to pop on over & have a natter with us on the forum. The girls over there are a hoot!!
