Le Shabby Cafe projects.

Had fun with House of Three & Pink Paislee this weekend, playing the March kit from Le Shabby Cafe. My initial challenge when planning my projects, was that being such a neutral kit how do I add color... thankfully my mental block didn't last long. A shot of caffeine & I had a epiphany.

"You have inks & mists girl...so what's the problem!!???"

I hauled out my American Crafts, Stampin' up!, Close to my Heart ink...some sponges.... then my Maya Road, Smooch Spritz, Tattered Angels, Studio Calico mists... and I was all set.
I started with my pack of Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology Ruffled Darlings.

And did this:
Step #1~ Took the white ruffled ribbon & some yellow mist.

Step #1~ Spritzed it in even strokes until completely covered.

Step #3~ White ribbon is now a gorgeous shade of bright yellow.

Step #4~ Then added some dots in bright pink ink. I this a CUTE stamp from Studio Calico.

Step #5~ Remember where there is resist varnish, the ink will sit on the surface & remain wet. So using a sponge, carefully rub & blend the ink over the paper for a soft effect.

Beautiful end result.

The final page of my cute niece in her fairy dress.

Inspired by Janet Hopkins.
Butterflies cut with my Just Chillin' design card for my Making Memories Elite Slice machine.

Using Smooch Charcoal Spritz & a baby wipe I, recolored the entire Parisian Anthology Fancy Filigree paper with dramatic results.

My title, Happy Girl, was cut using the Parties card with my Elite Making Memories Slice cutting machine.

I used x2 colors of mist to create the base paper for my butterflies.... then the Monarch butterfly punch from Martha Stewart.

Isn't this paper, Parisian Anthology Lovely Lace, just beautiful??? I used yellow ink & a sponge to highlight the doily resist pattern.

The chipboard shapes are from the Parisian Anthology Dimensions accent box.

A string of Parisian Anthology tickets, stitched on top of a piece of the silver ruffle darlings, makes the perfect accent.

And my last one....
A boy version using papers mostly suited for pretty pages. I chose blues to recolor my Parisian Anthology Divine Damask paper.

If you have this kit, I hope you find these inspiring, and challenge you to try something new. Don't be fooled...the techniques are deceivingly difficult, but in reality are simple & quick to do. I look forward to seeing your lovely creations.... remember to leave a link to them on the Le Shabby Cafe Facebook page.

Thanks for stopping by.....happy scrapping Tuesday!

  1. Hey there.
I adore the banner you made with the photos.
    Gorgeous LO's all of them.
I think you rocked it, I would have used the colours as is and just added B&W photos - how boring would that have been?
