Stamping with mist + Tutorial

It is the most beautiful winter morning here in Cape Town...although with the temps set to reach 20 degree's Celsius... it can hardly be described as winter. I have a little tutorial for you today.....with the amount of scrapping that has been happening in my craft room over the last two weeks....I have a bunch of goodies I can share with you.

As you know I love mist! and I am always looking for new ways to use it. The other day when I was finishing a page, I was looking for turquoise stamping ink...but didn't have the right shade. I did however have the perfect one in Mr Huey mist..... so thought there had to be a way to use it for stamping.

Here is what I came up with.

Supplies:
Torn paper stamp from Jenni Bowlin
Bonny Blue Mr Huey from Studio Calico
Acrylic block from Stampin' Up
Large plastic bag.... I used a 12x12 zip lock that my Cocoa Daisy kit arrived in.

Step #1

Step #2

Spray a circle of mist onto your plastic bag to fit your stamp.
Step #3

Carefully dip your stamp into the mist to cover your stamp. The block might get mist on it too.... I cleaned it off with a wet wipe before stamping.
Step #4

Stamp as you usually would. NB: The ink beads a little, so isn't as crisp as if using an ink pad...but that adds to the character of the image.
Final result.....

For the full layout... you can see it in the Cocoa Daisy, Urban Loft DT gallery.
Thanks for stopping by...I hope this little tutorial has been helpful.
Happy days.

  1. Great tutorial Kim. We are also having a lovely Winter's day here in Northern KZN. How is your craft room coming on? :)

  2. Thanks for the tutorial, I tried spraying it directly on the stamp the other day and it did not work as well lol.
