Finished!

It is finally done. The liquidation of my clothing company finally happened today. It has been going on for a year now with my partner dragging things out, leaving me hanging and waiting. Even though I haven't been involved there for a year now...it has been hell for me, the never knowing what is going on, the lack of communication from my partner, ug! it has been horrible. Well I went to court today & the papers are signed...I am free at last. Thank the Lord!!

Afterwards, my bloke took me out for a celebratory coffee @ a new restaurant called Knead, on the beach, overlooking False Bay. It was a stunning experience. They have renovated this beautiful deco building to its former glory, complete with million crystal chandeliers & marble work.
We had such a great time together. Flat Joscie was our guest...of course. And we dined on pastries made in the Knead bakery & perfect coffee. Flat Joscie did however, get very distracted by the Roxy shoes @ the surf shop at the back of the restaurant, we know how much she loves Roxy pumps; we could hardly pull her away LOL!
When we eventually did, we took a short stroll on Muizenberg beach & admired the view of Simon's Town & Cape Point in the distance. It was short lived though, because minutes later the heavens opened @ we were pelted by sheets of icy rain. Winter has arrived in the Cape :o(
Have a great day everyone...until the next exciting blog post..hahaha!
Luv ya!

It never rains, it pours!

I just can't believe the weather we are experiencing at the moment! We are officially supposed to be on the brink of Summer...HA! no chance of that. We have had VERY unusual rain & hail storms that have resulted in wide spread damage. And to make matters worse our house is still leaking.....2 years since the renovations & still we are finding water coming in in the weirdest places. So as soon as the rain decides to give it a break we must get our builder back to sort the leaks out. As the saying goes..."It never rains, it pours!", well in our household over the last couple of weeks ,it has been doing just that!

* The salt chlorinator for our swimming pool decided to meet it's maker & die. R4800 later to replace the jolly thing!

* The rain water caused the garage door motor to blow, we will have to replace the whole thing~ R2800

* We put sun reflecting film on all the huge windows in our loft only to discover that the glass company that our builder used to install them, failed to glaze them properly. We now have large cracks
running from top to bottom of every glazed window. They will all have to be replaced along with the film~ R14 000
* Our glass front door wasn't wedged open properly yesterday & it slammed shut, shattering it into a million slithers. Luckily it is amour plated & sand blasted so the bits are being held in place....for now. It will have to be replaced~ R8 000 {& this is wholesale}.

* I will stop now before I have a complete hernia.....put into a list like this, the reality of all the repairs needed, seem HUGE!!

This is our ex-front door~YIKES!!!

The reality of being a big person who owns property, gives me a new found respect for all the stuff my parents tried to tell me about, when I was growing up. At the time I thought they were being far too sensible about stuff that was obviously NOT important to me nor ever would be. It is times like these I wonder if we should rather have opted for a small, manageable, cozy home....instead we went for light, space & glass. Dumb!!

Oh well the Word never said it would be a bed of roses all the time but that trials of many kinds will befall us, in an attempt to help us grow & become more like Jesus. Flip, it is really hard sometimes!! Roll on heaven :o)

Another day!

....and nothing much to report. Same old stuff really.....life!
I found this thought provoking quote site the other day...this is the gist of one section on
life....

Learning not to grapple with every little thing that comes along,
is quite
a struggle for many of us. The eggs are too runny;
the coffee is not
hot enough; the clothes don’t fit exactl
y perfectly. Some of us have so
fashioned our lives around perfecting the details
of the small stuff,
that we never catch a glimpse of the bigger picture.

We so distract our lives with details and convince ourselves that
every little thing matters, that we live out of balance. Forgetting that
stuff
happens, the Lord never said life would be perfect to the last detail.

The trick is to look for the joys that come in small packages, that
come around
when you least expect it and make the most of them.
It is knowing that big packages
of joy are few and far between but
that's OK...it's life. It is
making the most of now, enjoying what is at
hand.
With the knowledge that with God inside us, where we are and
what
we are experiencing, is part of a pre-planned destiny. Our
peace is supposed to come from knowing that although every hour
of
every day might not be going according to our "great expectation",
it is going
according to His. We need to rest in that.

These pic's are x2 of those joy moments they spoke of>>>>>

Have a fab. 'small moment' filled day!
