Here it is!

Challenge no#11 is up! This is L.O given to us by Ronda for lifting! It is going to be alot of fun!! I really hope you are all going to be able to play along? In keeping with her own challenge site OLW, your pages must include the title 'Today'.

The deadline is Sunday the 26th October...so that should be plenty of time for you busy girls out there to get something together. This should be FUN, not stress...so let your hair down & try something new.

Look at these fantastic L.O's! #10

I am so glad to be back in the swing of the challenges again. Being sick during Winter as much as I was...saw the momentum being lost I think....but do not fear I am back & I hope all of you out there who joined in with your amazing L.O's each week, will play along again soon.

Initially the stamping challenge....sounded so hard {especially for Moi!} but once I had resigned myself to getting a little mucky...it wasn't hard at all. I have some ultra cool entries this week to show you.

This great take on the challenge was designed by Martha & is in the new 6x12 format. She used stamped twigs, a little bird on a branch, dots, date & journal blocks. The colours she used reflect the arrival of Fall where she lives in Ohio. Lovely work!!

The next page was designed by a South African scrappy buddy, Bee, who now lives with her family in the ever greener pastures of England. I love the yellow, charcoal & black colour combo she used & look at all the stamps too! Go Bee!! Blocks, diamond shapes, title, flower, sentiment badge & mock stitching. This gorgeous L.O was designed by my newest scrappy buddy & fellow Cocoa Daisy designer, Anna. She lives in Sweden & is a fantastic artist. For her L.O she used texture stamps to create her background papers behind the photo. Her style is simple but oh so cool!

This next creation was designed my sweet bloggy friend, Christina. She is a scrap-product manufacturer's dream customer...in her opinion one can never use too much stash on one page. She is one of the 'free'-est {if there is such a word} scrappers I know & her pages are eye candy for sure. I know she used a ton of stamps in her page but with all the layering I couldn't be sure where or how.To see more of her work, pop over to her blog :o)

This fun page was designed by my most faithful challenge participant, Marilyn. She is ridiculously productive at her scrap table & enters a ton of challenges each month, because of this she wins stuff all the time. Almost everyday she has a post on her blog of the newest haul of goodies she has won, so her hard work definitely pays off :o) Here she used her flourish stamps to create a multi-coloured back ground & matched the colours to the stamped flower embellishments. Great job!!

My good friend, Stef, created this great page! It has simple, masculine style & the colours are great. I love the hand stitched accents :o)

Another SUPER cute page by Anna. Aren't those piggy tales adorable???? She took a cross hatch stamp & stamped it 6 times across the page to create texture, & interest. The tulle is a wonderful touch...might have to try that myself some time :o)

This is my take on the challenge. Inspired by a fantastic designer,
Jennifer Johner, who's style I have admired for years. Her use of the doodle bug alphas, stitching, papers scraps & Autumn leaves stamps has solidified her style that is noticeable everywhere. I had a blast here...I used the entire page of frame stamps on this L.O, as well as a journal block. The flitting butterfly trail using zig-zag stitch, was inspired by a digi brush Joscie used on one of her latest L.O's. Most of the papers are from the Cocoa Daisy September kit, with an extra bit of Tinkering Ink thrown in.

Guys, you did SO great!!! Your takes on the challenge were creative & inspiring THANX a million!! A bit later I will post the random drawing RAK winner & the next challenge.

Challenge #9 L.O's!

Thanks to the great gals who faithfully do my sketches....I appreciate your playing along each time. Your creativity never ceases to inspire me & teach me something new.



Like Misty's page here....don't you just love how she stamped butterflies across the two pages to 'join' them. Your colour sense is amazing!



...and Marilyn used these cute stitched flourishes to do the same thing.
Boy! all the lovely stitching must have taken you ages :o)


I love how Shaina used the strips of patterned paper to gel the pages together....see the addition of the black is such a strong feature. Is the black paper dye cut with holes??? Great job!



And mine...I stepped out folks & tried my hand at digi again...& do you know what.... I LOVED it. The tricky part I find is to always think of what the light would do in real life. I think that is what determines whether or not a L.O looks realistic or not. I used the crystals, turquoise flourishes & colour to tie my pages together.

Well everyone I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did...I'll post the RAK winner a bit later.
Regarding the next challenge....I have decided that x4 challenges a month is just too many with all my other projects on the go, so I am cutting it down to x2 a month, giving everyone more time to complete it.

Well I have to dash...the electrician is in the roof trying to sort out why our circuits are tripping all the time. I have a feeling it because of all the rain water that is finding it's way inside our home through every nook & cranny. Builders...are SERIOUSLY in my bad books right now. Through out both our renovation we had nothing but nightmare stories.
Anyway enough of that....before I really get started on my war stories.

It's moved!

There has been some talk about moving the challenge date to Sunday the 7th. With Becky Higgins deadline being tomorrow & a couple of others...time is a bit tight.
Now there is no excuse guys (me included heehee!) not to try the double. Aw man...I was hoping to swerve it & feint time issues...but I'd feel too bad. So Sunday it is OK!

I found it!

My challenge enthusiasm is back.....I have been so sick with flu over the last 2 weeks...AGAIN! that I just haven't felt like focusing anything mentally challenging, other than flicking the remote on & off.

Well I am happy to say that hopefully this is the last I shall see of the nasty flu that has been hovering over Cape Town for the last two months. By now I should have so many anti bodies in my blood stream...warding off an episode of the plague should be a breeze :o)

So who's up to a a bit of a scrappy challenge? I was thinking hard about what would be a good theme for challenge #9 (no smart 'she was thinking?' comments please!) & I was wondering what I personally find challenging?.....As a whole not much, unless of course it is a double L.O...they make me sweat & see double (no pun intended). Now I know there are those faithful blog buddies out there, who can whip up a double in their sleep, but there are plenty of us who can't, so humor us & share your expertise .....pleeeezze!

I borrowed a 2008 sketch from Becky Fleck @ Page maps to give the likes of 'moi' a starting point. You might be looking at this thinking ...what on earth is she blabbing on about...that sketch is SOOOO basic??? but don't be fooled guys.....that's all I'm saying :o)

The deadline for this L.O will be next week Friday...the (um?) I'll have to look the actual date up. Let me know if you are going to play along.

Challenge #7 is going to be a sketch this week....I considered PS-ing my own & then in a moment of realization thought, WHY? when we have our talented Ms Fleck...just up our cyber street. So I selected one of her page maps from a couple of months ago, for us to use. There is no theme other than....using the sketch. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

The deadline for your submissions is the 30th July because we are away for that weekend.

#4 Sketch idea!

In case you were a little daunted by my sketch idea, I thought I'd help you out a bit by showing you an interpretation idea based on the ad. You can clearly see where the idea came from but it is obviously not even remotely similar....this is the joy of finding everyday things to help with L.O ideas.I am looking forward to seeing your creative takes on #4.

Challenge #3 "Bling it on!"

....and they're up!!

Girls, you have done a FANTASTIC job this week.....I see bling everywhere.....well done!! All your pages are inspiring & beautiful to look at.....be PROUD of yourselves!

This beautiful L.O by Michelle....has delicate rhinestone center's in all the flowers.

Here Joscie has combined my favourite colour combo of red & blue & added twinkle in the form of glitter alphas (gotta get me some of those :o), a little crystal circle around the store sign & jewel brads. I also now know that we here in SA are sorely missing out....the store she speaks of called Krispy Creme, is the hottest, crispiest & most delicious donut shop in the whole of the USA. Go & check out their web site.

Mel's beautiful L.O sports carefully placed beads & crystals in the centers of the velvet flowers....I know what went into getting that right. Mel, it was worth it this page is lovely!!

That crystal crown is SO cute, it looks so real...Paula, Coco is such a cute pie.....her name in 'diamonds' (Max's words) is a perfect finish to this great L.O!

I love the red/magenta colour combo...& Mel did it so well here. The crystal word & sparkly clear flower accents compliment this great page blingin' perfectly.

WOW! our first double L.O....& worth the wait it was...it is beautiful Stef. All the blingie touches add sophistication & sparkle. The fact that the page was about her daughters newly acquired pierced ears & earings is so apt....but knowing Stef, it was all carefully planned, right?

Boy bling.....COOL! Another great L.O by Stef....who needs Krispy Creme, when we can improvise like those beauts???This great L.O by Marylin has GLITTERY stars & rhinestones to bling things up.

This super HIP L.O by Jo is so well done. Bling for a teenage boy is a tricky one.....so look & learn guys, this is GREAT! Subtle jewel brads, anchoring the title tag down & the clock center.

And lastly this is my take on the challenge....bling done a bit alternative. See those clear buttons, well I adhered onto the page with glitter glue....I was thinking SNOW FLAKES, being about snow & all :o)

Another fantastic challenge under our belts. I will post the RAK winner a bit later with next weeks challenge.

....RAK #2 winner is?

Tersh randomly picked a number & it was Michelle. Well done Mich, mail me your postal details where I can send your RAK....just a little something to say thanks for playing. And get ready girls for Challenge #3.

I have decided it has to be something we all find hard to do on our L.O's.....BLING! in the form of crystals, glitter, stickles, sequin's, beads or anything that can be described as bling.....& not some small insignificant little shiny thing in a far off corner....it must say "Look @ me...I'm beautiful!".
The other requirement is that we must use x2 photographs...one must be approx. 5x7 & the other approx. 3x4...either portrait or landscape is fine.

I found these x2 L.O's in the Autumn leaves~Details book for inspiration.

This one has obvious yet subtle bling, in the form of beads, decorative pins & jewels. And both photographs are portrait.

And this one has sequins everywhere...look @ how divine the sequins look in & around the flower. Here x1 photo is landscape whilst the other x1 is portrait.

They're up~#2!!

The L.O's from Challenge #2 are up & looking beautiful!!!

As a reminder.....this was the inspirational L.O.....from Creating Keepsakes Mag, May Issue.And these are the L.O's submitted......

A cool L.O from Christina (also known as Inara) using an interesting variety of photo sizes & different journal blocks.

This fun page is by Melody, her funky title is stamped.

Paula (also known by the name Loreluca) sent me this great L.O at the last minute. She has been so hectic at work but was determined to finish a page. She did this beaut in just over an hour,whilst she was preparing to leave for a meeting......girl... "I am impressed!".

This is my take on the page. The stamping onto the base page, behind the photo, is a milestone for me....I tend to stay away from unpredictable treatments like that just in case I stuff it up. Well, botch it I did.....thankfully you can't see it tho', it's hidden under the photo. I machine stitched circles for the journaling, as well as some extra decorative stitching here & there. It was challenging & fun to do.

This great L.O is by Stef. Do you see her interesting effect on the photo? I also see ink & hand stitching....well done!

We have our first digi submission from Michelle....it rocks!! The stamp frames are a FAB idea around the photo's, as is the 'hand drawn' heart!This great L.O was sent in by Stefanie about her FIL. See how she cleverly used rub-on's instead of paint?

And lastly a FAB! L.O by Marilyn. Wow! that stitching around the edge is a fantastic way to finish your page off!

So that's it folks.....a fantastic effort by some great scrappers. Thanks for playing along.....I will get Max to draw the 'winner' of the small RAK a little later & I will try & post the results today still. Challenge #3 will be up tomorrow, for anyone wanting to join in again!
