It's RAK time!

If you didn’t already know, today is Blog Hop Friday! :)

It is the official Pink Paislee welcome to Spring & Easter and I together with all the other PP DT members have created some amazing projects to hopefully inspire you & get you into the Spring feeling. To visit all the other Pink Paislee DT blogs, here is a complete list.

Each year I make Easter baskets for my children, this year they will be getting these CUTE Pink Paislee ones filled to the brim with delicious goodies. I just know they will be a hit. To download the box template pop over here.

All the papers, press-ons & stickers I used are from the Enchanting line.

All the DT members from Pink Paislee have a questionnaire to answer in the hope that all you lovely PP fans might get to know to know us a bit better. Here is a bit about me:

1.) Where did you grow up? Do you still live there?

I grew up in Salisbury, Zimbabwe, which is a country in Southern Africa. I left there when I was a teenager & now live in Cape Town, South Africa.

2.) What is a typical day like for you?

Now that I am a stay at home Mom, my life is far less hectic than a few years ago, when I ran a clothing manufacturing company. So now in between house chores, groceries, my children & ordinary life….I scrapbook.

3.) What is your favorite fashion accessory?

I suppose that would be my wedding ring. I am not one for fancy jewelry & opt for colourful fashion beads but my ring is really special to me.

4.) What is playing on your ipod right now?

I don’t have an ipod, but I have Jack Johnson on the CD player.

5.) Name one television show that you MUST TIVO each week?

Honestly I don’t have much free time for TV but my bloke & I have just started the series 24 on DVD & are seriously hooked.

6.) What is your favorite movie of all time?

City of Angels with Mel Ryan & Nicholas Cage

7.) What is your favorite Pink Paislee product?

I love all the new paper lines!!!

8.) If you could only keep 1 scrapbooking tool what would it be?

My corner rounders from EK success, their guides come off so I can scallop paper edges with them.

9.) If you didn't scrapbook what other activity would you spend time on?

I would love to learn how to play my guitar better. I sing & if I could play better I would finally be able to put my songs to music.

10.) What advice would you give to someone who wants to start scrapbooking?

Be real to who you are as an artist. Don’t feel pressure to make your pages look like someone else’s because they are popular, or follow the ‘latest trend’ or fad. There is no wrong or right in scrapbooking, it needs to be an expression of who we are as individuals.

11.) What would you say your scrapbook style is today?

Hmmm! I would have to say it is an eclectic one with a mix of crafty & feminine accents, I LOVE patterned paper, haberdashery & sewing and I much prefer 12x12 multi photo pages over any other size.

You are probably still wondering about the title to my blog post?????

Well you won’t be disappointed….because Rebecca the owner of Pink Paislee has very generously has donated this unbelievable Pink Paislee RAK package for me to give away. YES you read right, this delish looking package of loveliness is up for grabs. All you have to do it comment on this post & tell me what your favorite scrapbooking tip or trick is. You have until Sunday 9am CST to comment. Please make sure that if you don’t have a blog, that you leave a contact email address, in case your name if drawn. :)

  1. I love your baskets! My favorite tip - WALK AWAY! Lately I'm finding that walking away when I'm stuck and returning to my project later has done GREAT things!!!

  2. If you can't see it (product) you won't use it. It's a great tip for using up your stash! Gorgeous Easter basket, I love it.

  3. LOVE that basket!! My tip is that it doesn't alway have to be complicated... some pages can be very simple and maybe some journaling and a title is all you need!
Thanks for the chance to win some goodies!

  4. What a cute Easter basket thanks for the template link! Thanks for sharing this cuty. Happy Easter,

  5. My favorite trick is to distress the edges of everything, and then I ink the edges of everything. It seems to make my projects look more old and vintage (which is my sytle). Thanks for the chance to play

  6. Oh, Pink Paislee! My favorite! My tip is to sleep on it. I usually come up with some great ideas, small details - the little extras, when I go to bed after working on some project :-)

  7. Love that basket, and my tip is to walk away. Sometimes you can fix what you need by getting a new perspective.

  9. Hi! This is my first blog hop and I am having such an incredible time. I adore your little basket...so sweet! As for my tip, "Perfection is passe". I have had to learn to let go. Be happy with the process and most importantly be happy with the purpose. The rest is just icing on the cake!

Way too cute!! Totally on my list! Thanks for sharing!

  15. Great baskets! They are adorable!! I guess my best scrapbooking tip is to buy supplies with a friend and split them. It seems that every package of embellishments or papers has twice as much as you will actually use, so why not share them and save money for the next set on your wish list!

  16. Wow, I see the number of commenters increases in direct correlation to the RAk being offered.
You'll have to use a random generator to pick one, that is if you don't pick mine with the good old fashioned slips of paper in the hat trick.
My favourite tip,~ just do it.
Too often we sweat whether the colours match 100% and so we lose the fact that it is a creative outlet to showcase photos and tell the stories of our lives, leaving a legacy of blessing behind.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Love your project! One of my fave tips would be to scrapbook for yourself and not worry about your pages looking like they came out of a magazine. Enjoy the process! Thanks for the chance to win! I {HEART} Pink Paislee!

Your easter basket is adorable!! Thanks for sharing :) My tip: Don't be so hard on yourself! Sometimes we tend to create something that we personally don't like too much, just think that anything hand-made is beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Your basket is soooo pretty! My tip is to relax and enjoy scrapbooking. It all boils down to the memories.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Adorabe easter baskets!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Your basket is too cute! My scrapping tip is that I like to keep 'newer' products I bought in sight (basket on my desk) so that I put it to use right away otherwise it gets put away and I forget I had it or buy it again... Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Super cute basket. Hmmm my tip is to clean up right after or it begins to multiply!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Love your basket! my tip would also be to SCRAP FOR YOU! This is your book and do it your way. Don't forget about the journaling. To me this is the most important.

Just go with the flow and don't worry if it doesn't all come together immediately - it will come!

    ReplyDelete
  29. adorable baskets! My tip: do what you like...don't get hung up on trying to be something you're not or trying to impress other designers with your pages...it takes the fun and passion out of scrapping! Just do it because you love it and your family will, too!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Totally diggin' the basket!! Awesome project. TFS!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hey Kim!! Just love your basket, so pretty!! My favorite tip is something I learned in high school art class... when something looks "off" I flip it around so that I'm looking at it upside down... your eye will naturally be pulled toward the trouble spots and you can rearrange or add an embellie, whatever it may need.

Thank Rebecca for the SWEET giveaways!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Now I have made baskets before but his one is beyond cool! Love the glazed brads and the stitching is crazy awesome!

  41. I think by best tip would be is stop while you're ahead. Sometimes if you can't figure out what it's missing, it's not missing anything. adding and adding to figure it out just ends up ruining what would have been fine if you had left it!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Your baskets are precious - and love how you photographed them!! Those little chickies are pretty darn cute too!! Thanks for the chance to win!

  59. I'm not sure my comment took, and I apologize if I double-post, but want to make sure I get in here:

Such a cute basket - simply adorable! I love it! My tip is that using a kit is so fabulous, because you can spend less time on your project because you don't have to search too far or too long for things that work together. Thanks for the chance to win!

  64. Thanks for the link to the site w/ the basket and other tutorials - I've marked it and will use it again! Your basket turned out beautifully! So much Pink Paislee goodness.
And let's see...for a tip, I'd say: don't stress over the details! If you find that you're staring at a project, thinking, "what else can I add?" - just go away and come back to it - you'll have fresh eyes and the details WILL come together.
Thanks for the chance to win - and thanks for the inspiration!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  68. I LOVE IT!!! As soon as I saw this basket I said WOW!! Amazing job!

    ReplyDelete
  69. love how you used the chipboard shapes to decorate the basket! My favorite recent tip is to use those free 10 minutes here & there to *prepare* for scrapping so that when you do have time to sit down and scrap you can get more done. I make up little page kits by picking out photos during one little time block then picking papers in the next, then adding embellies later, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  70. yes! i was sooooo wondering how did that fabulous basket on the PP site! truly gorgeous. i've enjoyed learning about you and visiting your blog today.

  101. I'm here bunny hopping!

    ReplyDelete
  102. sweet basket! my favourite tip is to rub cornstarch on the back of stickers...and then use foam dots to raise them off the page. the cornstarch stops all the other bits from sticking to them (like glitter and dog hair LOL)

Your country is beautiful, I have been there twice, doing short term missions trips. Unfortunately, I haven't been to Cape Town, I've been told it's gorgeous - maybe someday....

My tip (mostly b/c I'm paranoid of screwing something up...) Layout the pieces of your page how you want them, THEN glue them down...lol. Don't. Rush. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  150. LOVE the Easter basket! Your kiddos are so lucky!!!

My scrapbook tip is simply have your product stored where you can see it. I don't use stuff I can't see. I now have two peg boards my hubby put up for me that hold all my embellie packages.
If I see it, I'm more inclined to use it. Know what I mean? :)

    ReplyDelete
  151. my fave scrapbooking tip: never scrap along (friends don't let friends crop all night by themselves! :)

    ReplyDelete
  152. my tip is to go online or look in a magazine for inspiration. i've noticed if i just sat down w/ my supplies, i draw a blank many times. the internet is a great tool to get ideas. :)

    ReplyDelete

  156. My favorite tip would have to be there's no right way or wrong way to scrapbook there's only your way!!!

    ReplyDelete
  157. My favorite tip is:You can never make a mistake...just cover it up with something...and it looks like it was meant to be...plus NEVER admit it wasn't supose to look like that...LOL...thanks for the chance!

    ReplyDelete
  158. What an amazing prize! My tip is that if you mentally calculate the best time for stash delivery to occur as you fill your online basket, you can cram a whole lot more in your stash cupboard than your partner will ever care to know about. Kidding. ;-D

Real tip: scrap for yourself and the way that makes you happiest. I've been trying to learn to 'let go' a bit - what matters is that the LO gets done, not that it's the most perfect page ever, ever, ever!!

    ReplyDelete
  159. your blog is awesome!
i haven't scrapbooked in a while, but now i can't wait to do so!

  176. Super cute basket!!!

My scrap tip is to keep an inspiration book, when you come across LO you like, sketch them out, come across a cool color combo/ rip it out and glue it in your inspiration book. When you finally have time to sit down and scrap half the work will be done for you! You'll have a definite starting point.
