2 peas + Layouts!

3 months ago I was asked by Amy Heller to contribute to a class, "Making Sense of Color For Scrapbooking", she was holding over at 2 peas. I was thrilled & LOVED my assignments given they were color driven. She is so talented! I have read & re-read this article over & over.

A Day to Party by Kim Watson
Complimentary: Lime/green, Magenta
Had a blast with this one using Amy Tan products from American Crafts & Elle Studio tags & things. Perfect for our cute 13yr old.

Wild Child by Kim Watson
Analogous: Lime, Yellow, Orange
Here I used Lily Bee, American Crafts & Fancy pants goodies. The tape is from Queen & Company. They have the MOST AWESOME selection of washi tape that goes under the name: Trendy Tape.

 Gross Factor by Kim Watson
Tertiary: Tomato red
This page is filled with Echo Park & Fancy pants! I LOVE these photos so much. His love/hate relationship with bug slime.

Sigh! I look at these pages & I love scrapbooking all over again. I love how it forces me to capture everyday life in the Watson household.

Thanks for looking lovelies!
Happy Wednesday!

2 peas + Through the Kaleidoscope workshop.

I'm so excited for my sweet friend Amy Heller, she is hosting an awesome workshop over at 2 peas in a Bucket, called Through the Kaleidoscope. One would never think it is her very first online class, the content is so professional & inspirational. Together with 10 other designers, I was asked to contribute to the workshop which was a blast... I know first hand (in that I have read the class material from cover to cover- couldn't put it down :)  you are going to be BLOWN AWAY!

Here is the official blurb about the workshop:

Do you wish you could add more color to your scrapbooking projects? Have you ever wondered how to mix manufacturers' products and collections with ease? And lets talk about all those products you've been hoarding in your stash, ever wish you could learn to use more of those in your projects? Join Garden Girl Amy Heller as she teaches a color theory based workshop, 'Through the Kaleidoscope | Making Sense of Color 4 Scrapbooking' based on the principles of the color wheel.

As a graphic designer and former creative and art director by trade, Amy's experience in color has spanned not only from the crafting world, but over 10 years professional experience in the design of advertising, brand development and packaging. Over five chapters, she'll share 50 brand new scrapbook pages by her and her group of contributors. Each chapter contains a printable PDF containing beautiful color inspiration boards from daily life as well as from scrapbooking supplies for each of the principles and colors covered, as well as a coordinating video. Included is a handy, portable flip card set with each of the color theories covered as well as the full color wheel for taking to your next crop or simply having in your craft area for easy and convenient color reference.

The content of this workshop will be available immediately upon purchase. The lessons are available for you to work at your own pace and upon purchase can be accessed in the "Workshops" section under "Classes & Events." A private message board forum is also available to ask questions for Amy and to connect with other participants. Enjoy! Cost of workshop: $25 Buy now!

Happy & Free by Kim Watson
Caught these photos of Max telling jokes with his Dad...I love the way he totally loses the plot when he lest out a belly laugh. LOL!
Here I saved the glassine bag the Cocoa daisy stamps came in & used it as a pocket behind the photographs to hold my hidden journaling tag.

Home is where your heart is by Kim Watson
Used my Silhouette SD for cutting the 'holey' background & all titles. Love the texture it adds to my pages.

Again I used my glassine stamp bags as pockets for my photos. I cut them down & 'pinked' the edges for a more authentic look.
You are Pretty amazing by Kim Watson
More fun layering using the Dear Lizzy line from American Crafts.
Hope you are having a fab Friday & have some great things lined up for the weekend! I'm off to a playdate with Max. One of his class mates, a sweet little girl, has been asking for months if he could come & play. The two of them talk the same language when it comes to imaginary games & they both love to draw & create. The perfect playmate actually.

See you on the other side.
