Mixed media Blog hop + still a chance to win.

Lovely people... over the last week I have been blogging about the CK mixed media Vol.2 issue right!

Oh before I forget, you still have until Friday to leave a comment on this blog post>>> for a chance to win a copy of CK mixed media Vol.2 issue. Come on...go leave me a comment!!

Today I am excited to say that today a bunch of creative, fun gals from the industry who have projects included in the mag are blog hopping & sharing a bit about the pages they had published. I am especially thrilled that a bunch of them were the designers who's pages I was fortunate enough to have included in the article I wrote 'Collage Whimsy'. I was so happy how it turned out but alas you'll have to buy the issue to read it LOL.

The great news is that Paper Crafts/ Creating Keepsakes magazine are going to continue printing special subject mags next year...so watch the news for up & coming issues.

I was blessed to have a selection of pages published in this one.
Here are a few sneaks:

Here is the master list of designers playing along and their blog links. So be sure and check out today's featured blogs, each one of them are inspiring and have fresh ideas you can add to your mixed media scrapbooking. Remember to come back tomorrow for even more!

Photo Transfer technique + Studio Calico

As you know I showcased on my blog, the Photo Transfer technique a few days ago as seen in the CK Mixed Media Scrapbooking, vol. 2. It was part of the blog hop to promote the CK blog hop.

I thought I'd show you another take on the same technique with different outcome.

This is the page:

Grasp by Kim Watson

Photo transfer Technique using clear packing tape:

Step#1- Print your photo onto regular printer paper using a color laser printer.

Step#2- Cover the surface with clear packing tape or shelf plastic, & trim off excess paper.

Step#3- Soak in water until completely saturated.

Step#4- Turn image over and keeping the paper wet, gently rub off the backing paper with your finger. You will be left with a transparent image of your photo.

Here is a close up of how the woodgrain paper creates awesome texture beneath my transparent photo.

A close up of my stitched accents & speech bubble.

These are the kits I used to create this page:

This is a close up of a black & white Crackin image I found on the internet, transfered in the same way to make a cool transparent accent.

There are other applications for this technique.... it works with patterned paper as well. I made my own washi tape.

Take a look at this Washi Tape Tutorial:

Step #1
Cut paper strips & immerse in water until saturated.

Step#2
Keeping paper very wet rub off the backing paper.

Step #3
Cut into 'tape' strips once dry.

Step #4
Add to your scrapbook page using adhesive.

Step #5
