Fun with washi tape!

I cannot get enough washi tape...& have collected tons over the last few years, so thought is was about time & came up with a few ideas on how to use it in creative ways on a scrapbook page. This page was published in the Papercrafts & Scrapbooking 2014 Scrappers Handbook special issue

Washi tape ideas:
  1. Pointed petal folded flower
  2. Little folded origami style hearts
  3. Borders & page edges using overlapping tape in different widths
  4. Chevron detailing on top left corner of left page

Stitching in the center of the chevrons, masks any rough torn edges.

A wood veneer heart makes the cutest flower center.

Machine stitching the row of hearts give great texture & adheres them to the page.

I know these ideas barely touch the surface of what one can do. If you have any ideas...I am always keen to learn new tricks...so please share them with me.

Fall inspiration + Layout.

Hello peeps! I thought I'd start sharing some Fall projects today, for my scrapbooking buddies in the USA who are experiencing one of the most beautiful seasons firsthand.

FALL.....

I created this is a page using some gorgeous Sass products. I wanted to remember this exciting times in our lives. It was the day we decided to elope...hehe! FUN...thing to do to I tell you. We avoided the big wedding thang, took the money & went overseas on honeymoon instead.
It was Fall.... by Kim Watson
See the leaf shape I misted onto my background? To do this I used real dried leaves. I merely placed them randomly on the page & misted over them.
Freebie mist masks, any leaf shape you want hahahaha!

I am seriously glad it is weekend....although I have an Egyptian Pharaoh costume to finish sewing for a costume party Max is going to by tomorrow mind you, so best I stop wabbing here on blogger.
HAPPY Friday & thanks for stopping by!

Baker man.

Friday was Maxi's turn at being Baker man at school. He was so excited when he got home & saw me baking these cute cupcakes for him to take the next day. Vanilla cake with cherry flavored butter icing...his favorite.

Nothing could beat his expression when he saw the cupcake toppers I made though.

I scanned a Sassafras sun sticker, layered them onto a circle frame in Photoshop, added a curved sentiment, which incidentally is the little saying his teacher says to the kiddies every morning when they arrive at school. Then printed a page of them on stiff card stock & punched them out with my 2" scalloped circle from EK Success. I then cut bamboo skewers into 3rds & taped them to the back.

When I saw the kids faces light up upon our arrival at the classroom door, this little bit of sunshine was worth every extra second it took me. His teacher said nearly all of the children insisted on taking their toppers home with them, even though they had already eaten the cupcakes.

*Being a Mom rocks in times like this, especially when your little boy tells you a gazillion times how much he loved being the Baker man that day.*

If you want to print & make your own toppers, I have a free download here for you here.
Enjoy....please link me up to your projects if you use the link. I'd love to see them.
Thanks for stopping by & have a super day!

35 minute challenge!

Do you ever find yourself slipping into the 'take-forever', 'gotta be perfect', 'up a bit', 'down a bit' scrapbooking type of mode??
Hmmmm, well I do :o/ & some-days it just takes forever!!

So every now & then I challenge myself to try some 'quick', 'grab whatever is handy' kinda pages. I did these a little while back when I had a gap & needed to just scrap for scrapping' sake. It was such fun setting the kitchen timer & then saying 'on-your-marks-GO!' & seeing what happened.
So even though the page styles are a lot simpler than I normally scrap, & the product is older I am SO happy with the results.

I challenge you to try this too sometime.
